Default P0304 - Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected

My car was running so rough last night...
so, I took it to the Honda..
and they got the code for #4 cylinder misfire.
for now, we only know it is not the coil (try the one from another S2000)

so, since Honda will have to take a while to determine what might go wrong..
They are not so familiar with S2000 since only 25~30 Honda S2000s were imported. Can any of you give me some idea what might cause this to happen?

thanks

oh no, this could be the beginning of a BIG PROBLEM.

when i had my misfire, i had like bent valves.. lots of $$$.

get a compression test and a leak down test done!!!

Here's a list of possibilities:

ignition coil
spark plug
Vacuum leak
Valve clearance out of spec
burned/bent or otherwise not sealing valve
Damaged cylinder bore
faulty wiring to coil/injector
faulty PCM

The worst case, I will just buy a JDM engine and put it on.

For now, Honda Taiwan doesn't wanna go the way toward to engine internal problem. They are going to test my ECU and wiring to injectors and coil since my car just done a wiring job not long ago.

is it worth fixing the valve/cylinder bore? instead of swapping to a JDM engine (about $3500 USD)

Its WAY too early to be talking about engine replacement.

Take this one step at a time. Proper diagnostics could save you a ton of $$$.
