CEL code po410?
hello all,
I thought id post this question up since the search function isn't working.
My 00 ap1 is throwing the cel code "po410" which to my understanding means theres something wrong with the secondary air bypass valve.
I went through all the vac hoses and everything seems to be connected just fine. I switched a couple around and re-set the ecu but the black valve connected to the air box(the secondary air bypass valve?) seemed like it was gasping for air. I then switched it back and everything sounded fine. So my guess is that the sabv (secondary air bypass valve) took a dump. I'm very new to s2000's so this is just an educated guess.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
again, i apologize in advance if this has been covered in the past but the search function is down (for me anyway)
thanks guys!

this code means there is something wrong with either the air pump or the air pump relay (there could also be a short between the ECU and the air pump relay). i'm not sure there's any quick fixes for these. you may want to take it in to have it checked out.
slowS2k might be able to provide more/better info.

yeah i think you'd be ok. the secondary pump has more to do with heating up the catalytic converter properly. but dont just not fix it.
P0410 is for the Air pump circuit malfunction, this is the pump it self. A P0411 is for incorrect pump flow. They are both parts of the air pump system, but not the same DTC or troubleshooting.
Air pumps are usually damaged in front end collisions, as well as the wiring and pump relay behind the bumper. You've either got a wiring problem, a faulty pump relay, or a bad air pump.
