Don't you get off if the cop doesn't show twice ?
Maybe I was misinformed but I was at the Suffolk County TVB for moving violations yesterday and it was the second time the cop didn't show. I was getting all happy when the judge tells me he'll have to give me another date due to the weather emergency (snowed like 4 inches the night before) and the cop couldn't come in.
Yeah right, weather emergency - I have a lightweight RWD sports car and you're telling me the moving boulder with FWD can't make it into the courthouse? Anyway, I was polite the whole time (even dressed up for the event), and was confused why I didn't get the ticket dismissed. He tells me that I'd postponed the ticket a few times so the cop gets the same privilege. I politely tell him that it's different since I had the decency to postpone way in advance so I don't waste the cops time and that I actually paid bonds on the ticket. Then, very disrespectfully, he points to his bald head "YOU SEE THIS BALDING HEAD?? YOU SEE THIS GRAY HAIR??" HAVE A NICE DAY!!" What the heck does that translate to? Does it translate to "I'm old and I'm miserable, therefore I'm going to make you miserable too" or "Your wisdom is no match for mine"? If it were a few years ago, I honestly don't want to think about how I would have reacted, but I just walked out of there before I had a chance to do anything I would regret. I was too flabbergasted and confused I even forgot the new court date but I didn't want to walk back in there and ask - I'm going to call in to find out my new date. I had a very bad feeling the moment I walked into that room 15 minutes earlier because the old judge was cursing out his clerk.
He was truly a hardened old man. If any of you get summonses to the TVB in Suffolk and you are assigned to Judge Starkman - best of luck to you.
Maybe I was misinformed but I thought a ticket is dismissed after 2 no-shows from the cop. Even if I were, that disrespect was uncalled for.
If it is a rule where a ticket is dismissed after 2 no-shows, do I have any recourse?
Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure you're off the hook if the cop doesnt show twice....atleast thats what the judge was doing for the people in front of me while I was waiting for my turn. However, this looks like an exception cause that POS judge gave the POS cop an exception for the weather.
