220 WHP possible NA (for reasonable $$)?
Has anyone hit 220+ whp NA? Any Dynos?
I know that Spoon post with 265whp, but has anyone outside a tuning shop hit good numbers?
I figure if I can get 220 whp and change to the 4.44 gears, it would be much quicker than stock.
And pretty durable over time.
220whp * 8% tighter gearing = 237 whp (almost what we have at the flywheel stock)
I tried searching for NA HP, or most NA power but couldn't come up with anything.
Seems like everyone is going boosted (which is appealing, but I'm worried about throttle response and long term damage to the engine).
Thanks,
-Ed
P.S. Does this board have a dyno page? I looked in the library but perhaps I didn't look hard enough?

WOW have you done that to your car?
How much did it all cost so far?
237 have you dyno'd it?
If you did some gears wouldn't that make it the equilivant of having 256 whp!
It seems like the supercharger companies were smart when pricing their packages.
~5k = 100whp Boosted
~5k = 50whp NA?

237 as dynoed on a Dynojet back in June. That was with DC header, HKS exhaust, RM intake, AEM PEMS...
Since then I have switcehd to all Comptech, header, test pipe, intake, exhaust...
Much stronger now.

Is the aem EPMS the very pricey full engine management system? Or is more like a VAFC?
How much did your comptech parts cost? What kind of difference did you see with the AEM PEMS?
Thanks,
-Ed
It seems like the under the hood section is dominated by boosted cars making big power. I'm glad to see it can be done NA.

30 rwhp gain with the EMS. I would suggest just using a VAFC for 1/3 the cost and you'll see 15-20 properly tuned. If you use the EMS, be prepared for a lot of dyno time, down time, and tuning time. It's a pain but worth the end result to me.

I hit 204 with just an intake and a not properly tuned VAFC. That cost me about $500. Once my stickers get here, I think that'll easily put me over 220, probably close to 300.

Was at a dyno session a few weeks back. Friend's bone stock 2002 S2k dynoed at 217whp on average. I watched my other friend's 02 S2k with only the supersprint exhaust dyno at 221whp.
The dyno numbers were obtained by a dynapak dyno.
