Default Road trip from St. Louis to Vegas

Hi,

I'm new to the forum, but have been checking out the treads for a few months. I bought a 2002 S2000 from a dealer through ebay. Will be flying to St. Louis around 26-27th and then drive my "new" S2000 over the memorial weekend. Going from a 98 civic (automatic!) to my dream car is really exciting and I can't wait to get my hands wrapped around the steering wheel.

Being my first time purchase online for a car, it's a bit scary paying so much money for something I've not seen in person. Carfax is clean, but you never know.

Does any one have any suggestion on what I should be looking for? I heard I should watch out for rust, is there a particular place that gets more rust than usual? Any other perils of wisdom?

edit: Plan on going via I-70 to Denver and then Vegas. What's the freeway like? Read there the interstate becomes a Toll road in Kansas?

i have heard people with spacers still in the springs. i have heard like ryan said, tears in the top, obviously clutch issues if someone didn't take care of the clutch. (if you gotta press the clutch in allllllll the way to the floor before it grabs) other than that i can't really think of something i would be "cautious" of but of course to each its own.

Its called the wrong filler metal and gas for the type of steel they were welding together.

No thats not typical, its just a crappy exhaust.

I-70 in Missouri is bumpy, and crappy. Missouri has some of the worse roads that I've seen. In KS I-70 does have a toll section. From Topeka to KC, the full toll costs $2.50. The roads in KS are pretty good, heck of a lot better than Missouri I know that. I think KS is one of the top states for roads too...not sure though.

That is correct. It was an "executive" lease, whatever that means.

Here is the ebay auction page:
