Default Raced a Bright Yellow M coupe and won

Im a new owner of a 2002 S2000 Black on black I have put about 1200 miles on it and was coming home from work at about 10pm. I was turning right at a light as I saw a glimce of a bright yellow M coupe what a funky ride. Anyway I was making the left to head home I and way back I saw the M coupe speeding up as I have passed to lights hoping he pull next to me. My wish came true the light was red and I though he was going behind me and soon he was next to me he reved his motor and so did I waiting for the light to turn green!! As the light turned green I was at 6000 rpms and let the clutch go and stomped on the gas so did he we both were spining the wheels and I had traction as I started to pull away with 1/2 a car length ahead of him and that VTEC is the bomb and The road turned to a single lane but I was ahead as we both headed down I pulled over to a gas station and he followed me in and we both chated about the 2 cars. He was impressed he had the 315hp version M coupe. I guess I was lucky or it was driver vs driver or whoever had traction first was the winner. Remember the car dosnt make the driver the driver makes the car...Happy new owner!!!

He's not talking about the M3, he's talking about the M Coupe. The one that looks like a Z3.

But thats a GREAT kill. I don't expect many of us will have one of those under our belts.

Yes it was a Z3 the M coupe version If the 2 lane road was longer before it turned into one lane maybe he would have gottne me in the long run but who knows Im still learning about this car and its power... I used to own a 11 second GSX eclipse and I know I would have killed both cars with the all wheel drive... But what Ive learned is Traction and reaction is key for street fun no matter what performance car you drive

Cool, those M's are pretty strong...never had a chance to line up against one but hear good things about them. Technically, they should be able to hand it to a stock S2000...but a race is a race, you never know what will happen.

Common. S2000 vs M roadster (older model) is more like it. The new M roadster does not have 333hp like the M coupe due to shorter exhaust but is Faster than the coupe. You have no chance with the new M roadster even if you were a better driver.

Don't get me wrong and no flamming, i love the S2000, but no way it can handle the 1/4 or 0-60 against the new M roadster.

The only problem with that logic is that a human driver has to drive each car in a race...not robots. And they don't get 10 tries to get their best time. So, anything can happen. I agree, though, the new M should hand it to a stock S.

At what speed were you at when the race ended and the road merged into one lane?
