Default People with subwoofers...

Just put a system in my S and was wondering if anyone has any tricks for cutting down on some vibration noise? In particular, I hear something behind the rear license plate, but I cant tell what it is.

Like lucid said, do something about the rear tray. Search thru previous posts, lots of suggestions have been contributed in the past. For the one behind the license plate (assuming it's not the plate itself?) it's the trunk latch/lock - specailly the part that allows you to open the trunk from inside the trunk.

That was the easiest one I fixed. Slightly bend (by hand) the clip that the glove box latches onto. Careful, it bends very easily.

I have the same problem. I took off the plate and put a liitle piece of dynomat in between it and the car. My glove box rattles on top not the clip part. The bass sounds good with the top down but everything rattles with it up.
I here that dyno mat will weigh down the trunk and look ugly.
Some one said expansion foam but havent tried it yet.

If I could do it over I would have went with one 8" sub.
My 2 ten inch Kickers Solobarics sre just too much.
Only did it cause I had them from my previous car.

Well it may weigh down the trunk a little, but that doesn't sound like weight should bother you given the fact that you have (2) 10" Solobarics in the trunk, I don't think 15lbs of DynaMat is going to make a difference now. Why do you think it would look ugly? As long as you take your time and do it right cut out each piece to fit properly it should look bad not to mention you'll be putting the interior trunk panel back on anyway which will hide any sign of it.

But to each their own

Ok, this is proof enough that you need to do something about that rear tray (or top's well or whatever you wanna call it). It's not so hard to do or undo so just do it and see. I had the exact same symptoms and was frustrated with my subs till I got rid of that tray. You don't really have to keep it out, you can vent it or put it back with some rubber around the edges. The other thing this acheives is that it reduces the pressure off the trunk lid/etc and other rattles also disappear.

Hey ant_knee, the noise that you were talking about behind your license plate could be what I have found. If you take out the carpet insert against the rear of the car, you will notice a plastic air release vent. Covering that vent is a thin rubber flapping thingamajig but anyway I have a 15" custom setup and that was one thing I took care of by just removing that rubber flapping thingamajig. The other was like everyone else has stated the rear plastic covering panel just under the rear window. I just added some dynamati thingies. One more would be if you remove the carpet insert against your spare tire, look just above and you will see a couple of black skinny rods for the trunk which keep touching each other in which makes a nasty noise when blasting your boom boom I just added some more dynamati thingies between them. All unseen anyway and no more rat tattat tating going on

PS: You do not have to dynamat the whole trunk just at places others have suggested and places I have pointed out. I have a custom 15" Eclipse & Diamond setup and ever since I corrected those problems, I have no rattling noises. Then again I blast that chit so loud that I prob cant hear it any way hahaha
