S2000, the perfect car
I just picked up my brand new 2003 S2000 on Wednesday... and wow do I love this car... Grand Prix White... I call it the Mach 5 (now is that showing my age?... hmm). I'm still in the break-in phase (which if anyone has any tips for this stage of ownership, I would love to hear them), but I can already feel the great potential that this car has on those twisty back roads... can't wait to open up the revs beyond that number 8, more so I can't wait to take advantage of the great handling and hit up some Japanese style drifting.
Now I have been a roadster fan all of my life. Growing up, my dad had this great little MGB which I loved to death. For me, I owned a first and second gen Miata (what great cars)... and now my S2000. And let me tell you, this car is pure bliss. It's a true 21st century roadster. Now it may not be as fast as a Porsche Boxster S, or not as plush as a Mercedes SLK, or as flashy as a TT, or as torque crazy as a Vette, but in my opinion that's what makes this car great... it's what a roadster is supposed to be... one with the driver and the road.
Before getting the S2, I shopped around like crazy. I pushed test drive cars from the 350Z to the Boxster S right to the limit. But at the end of every drive, my passion's focus always had me thinking "the S2000 is the only way to go". Out of all the cars that I had the opportunity to drive, it was this little 4-banger underdog that made me feel like it was an extension of me right from the get-go.
Taking full advantage of this weekend's weather in New York, I had the top down enjoying every mile of cruising. Let me tell you, I still can't stop smiling. The best part is that this car is a magnet for stares of admiration... and to the gentlemen reading this post, women absolutely love this car.
Now I can ramble on forever about this car, but I'll stop here. Let me just finish by saying "Thank you Honda... I know this is not the case, but I feel like you designed this car just for me =)"

Congrads on your new baby. Just make sure you read the other posts here on teh board regarding break in. But its fairly basic, dont go into vtec untill 600 miles past 6k and check your oil frequently.
600 mile Break in? What's that?
