Default Supercharged S2000 Gas Mileage

I am thinking of adding the Comptech Supercharger when they are available with the aftercooler this summer. Does anybody know how many miles one gets on a tank of gas now with either the vortech or comptech supercharge. Thanks

Same as stock. I got about 220-230 miles before the light comes on. When I drive in nothing but rush hour traffic it dips down to 200 before the light comes on.

BTW, Comptech has been "coming out with an intercooler/aftercooler option real soon" for about a year and a half.

Wes it doesnt seem to make sense to me that your mileage wasnt affected by the sc? Not that I know any better I just always assumed that it was going to increase.

Is your comparison keeping all other variables constant within reason? i.e similar driving style/wot etc

You have to consider that the motor only needs/gets more fuel under WOT and that it increases with boost. So, unless you're driving at WOT all the time at 4-6 PSI (between 7.5 and 9K) you really won't see that much extra fuel dissapearing. Even when I went to a 2-day track event at Texas World Speedway I was getting very similar fuel consumption to the NA S2000s. I have actually never seen a supercharged S2000 owner claiming the he's using up more fuel than before.

Thats interesting. As I said I have no experience with FI I just assumed that the consumtion would have to increase relative to the extra horses. Thanks for the prompt response

I would also think that during regular day driving (i.e. 2500-4500 RPM) the S/C isn't really dumping that much more fuel, or causing that much more of a load on the engine. Probably comes close to balancing out.

I've had my SC for a few weeks now - don't notice much difference in gas mileage. If there is a difference, it's probably cause I more now with the SC.

I think I get about 1 to 2 miles per gallon less. Before, I used to get 230-240 before the light would come on, now I get about 210-220 before the light comes on.
Then again, maybe I am just driving a little faster, not sure though. It's just been put back on the road, since last November.
