Default Tire wear question???

Hi all,

I was just wondering....I replaced my stock tires today and i noticed there was significnatly more wear on the right rear tire than the left rear. Is there any reason for this???

A bit of back ground:

About 20 trips down the 1320(drag strip) over the span of the last year
Monthly canyon carving
mild daily driving
18000+ miles I kno, way to many miles!!!
Stock alignment settings

Any ideas would be appreciated...I wish I could show the difference but I didn't have my digicam on me...o well

Thanx
Bo

Hello,
Sorry, this is not much in the way of an answer, in fact I've got a similar question: I replaced my origina rear tire at 12k and now the new tires at 15 k show major wear. I'm an oldtimer with no canyons to carve or dragstrips so I'm thinking; a new set of rears every 12k wow this could get expensive.

Is there an alignment issue here? I just don't belive its my driving style....

thanks

The alignment is one of the problems for the tread life of the tires. You will need to lower the toe in to 4mm to get longer wear. You will still be within spec but you will get the longer tread life. Burn outs would be why one would wear more than the other is my guess.

Jim is this also tru when putting on Kumho's , My firehawks lasted a mere 17000km, that was poor I thought . And make sure that the clowns did not put a front rim on back and vice versa , trust me that happend to my car , it was an absolute disaster , and even honda could not figure it out at first , or the Firestone rep , that guy pissed me off , he as mush as said the bald tires after 3000km were from my driving habits , I THINK NOT
