I just engaged in something very big with my s2000 before being cut

i decided to work with a local shop here and cut the car into pieces, yes it's an 03 with 3000miles on it, i must be crazy. I guess by now your wondering what I'm doing to this beautiful car...........

Well i didnt want to change anything on the car, i think it's gorgeous the way it is. I didn't want to put any bodykit, but wanted to do something different... so I decided to redo the whole front end with CARBON FIBER!!! the hood, both fenders and front bumper and eventually move to the back to do the whole car by the end of the summer.

It is a process which has started 4 weeks ago, striping the car into it's pieces, to be able to make the molds for every part, to be able to redo them in CF. Here is some pics of my car strip, actually the way it look's right now.

I'm going to keep you posted on the progress and it moves forward.

I went to the shop yesterday and they had finished all the molds for all 4 parts. The project its actually going forward faster than expected. I will probobly host a GB after this project is over on the fenders and front OEM bumper for does of you interested. Futurs plans consist of doing the back bumper and the thrunk.

Here is some snap shots of the molds in process.

Next step CF pieces, now this is the exciting part...

Actually, what i quite funny is that from some angles your stripped S2000 reminds me of a plymoth Prowler.

So how much weight are you thinking you are going to save?
The factory parts seem to be pretty light as it is.
Are you going to paint it white afterwards or leave it looking like a cop car?

Damn i dont want that bill once its done. Ouch it hurts just thinking about it.

I'm not actually doing it to save much weight, since the oem parts weight almost nothing, we where surprise on how the fenders dont even weight anything. As for the painting I have the intention of leaving it black, i love that 3D effect in CF so i guess I'm mayking it like a cop car, but i think it's going to blend well with the black roof and the bronze wheels. Phase 2 is to do the thrunk and the back bumper, at that point there will be more CF Parts than white. The only part that should stay white in the end will be the doors, i think the car will look good all CF with 2 white doors, to remember the original color. Anyways the CF frontend is going on at the end of the week I'll see how it look's from there I'Ll decided what to do next, since the bill will arrive at the same time

i would not be surprised to see this project in upwards of $3000+ the labor and the cost...

sheesh, to me, not worth paying over 10% the value of the S which will definitely depreciate the value of the car...
but to i guess the looks is in the eye of the beholder
