my new audio setup
A couple weeks ago I finally got around to replacing the stock audio equipment. Here is a list of the equipment I used:
Kenwood KFC-1679ie speakers for the doors
Sony ES CDX-CA760 for the head unit
Lucid's Sony DCI (thanks for the sale Hondafan)
modified Acura RSX-S OEM subwoofer, enclosure, & amp (in the spare tire)
Here are couple pics:

This subwoofer setup doesn't give shaking bass, but I never expected that (and I only paid $25 total for it). It does give me some nice complementary low end which is all I was looking for. So far I've only driven the cars a few times since the install (and always with the top down) and I'm happy with the results.

I particularly like the "neat" installation. Very pleasing.
How did you locate a sub from the Acura RsX? Did you do the installation or, was it done for you ..... ?
Finally, what was the total $$$ invested?
Thanks

sizzle,
I did the install myself. Way back in my HS and college days I used to routinely compete in car audio contests (and I usually placed). I even got invited to Nationals once and even have had a picture of me and my (old) car in Car Audio magazine. I always prided myself in designing, building, and installing my own systems. To find the subwoofer, I just cruised www.clubrsx.com until I found someone selling their OEM sub system. I spent about $50 on the door speakers, $55 on the DCI, $25 on the OEM subwoofer setup, and I already had the radio (from a past system -- but you can get a good one for less than $200 nowadays).

great thing about the s2k is that you don't have to worry about the stereo deck not matching the interior design cuz they all look fine for the most part... good job. very clean... now if you can only get the audio controls on the dash to work with you new deck, that'd be PERFECT!!
What is "Lucid's Sony DCI"?
Nice setup.
I've not changed my setup in about a year because I really like it as it is: Alpine 7876 27 watt rms/channel, Kenwood xr600 (now discontinued), rewired front speakers, PAC-3, Lucid/Polk 4" rears, JL Audio 250/1 & Stealthbox. It provides more sub than I need and I'd probably be just as happy with your mini-sub except when I want a backrub.

Lucid's Sony DCI (actually invented and built by Modifry) is another dash control interface. It has several advantages over the PAC imo. First there is no delay between inputing a command via the dash controls and it brings more functionality to the dash controls.
There are 2 types...the SONY DCI - specific to certain SONY H/U and the multi-DCI. It can control several different manufacturers.
