With the weather taking a decided turn for the worse it was good news that at last the OEM hardtop arrived. I was part of the initial group buy through MG Racing / Giampiero and the top was imported from Japan via Florida. Getting it from Miami to Oklahoma took 3 weeks and would be an interesting story sometime. The factory box it came in measures 50 x 50 x 35 in ( much bigger than top) but it is light ( less than 80 - 100 lbs).
I called one local dealer for a quote on installation but he had no idea how it was done, how long it would take or (most immportantly) a technical advisory / procedure about how to do it. He claimed their service people had been told it was very difficult at a recent Honda workshop and required pop rivets. They asked me for installation instructions which I will search for in the carton. So fafr I have turned up "Installation Instructions/ Owners Manual" in 8 languages. The installation instructions only refer to taking it off and putting it back on (remarkably simple) but not installation of mounting hardware or electrical hookup for heated RW.
The Honda JP sites which have been referenced before on this site seem to only show the same info as in the manual I described. This weekend I intend to open the box a bit more a root around to see if I can come up with more. Perhaps I will post some pix for everyone to see. Anyone (in any country ? Oz ? Can) who can access, get a copy of or post the factory install procedure please help.

How bad does the weather get in Oklahoma? I always thought it was like Texas. But I would be interested in seeing some pics of the top.

It often snows north of the Red River; more so than in Texas (other than NW Texas).

Here you go. All you gotta do is translate from Kanji http://www.honda.co.jp/parts/s2000_ht/next02_1.html

Woops! I wasn't paying attention. That's just the "how to put the top on" instructions, which you already have. Never mind.

Anyone know where there is a side-view picture of the hardtop? I saw the rear-view pic on s2000-honda.com, but would like to see a side- view.

I think I was part of the same group, but for some reason my top was shipped to someone else, and I won't be getting it till next month now.

Giampiero already has a hard top installed. Perhaps you can check with him to see if he did the work himself or had someone do it. It's really MG's responsibility to get the install instructions to us. Because local Honda dealers aren't selling hardtops yet, I wouldn't expect them to have the install instructions or be geared up to do this work. (I was really hoping it would be simple enough to do myself.)
