covkid48,

Do you know if you have to remove the soft top to install the hard top?

Molly W,

Here you go...

covkid48;did you check carefully in the box if they are the installation instructions;I was told that they suppose to be included(in English also)

To Unicron;you dont need to remove the soft top to install the hardtop.

As far as I know Honda dealers they should have already received info about installation of the hardtops, because they will might start to selling them sometime next year.

The instruction manual indicates that the soft top does not have to be removed just the infamous cover.

I have the OEM service manual and Electrical manual which give quite a few photos of the electrical components (with the heated RW hooked up) as well as the circuit diagrams and fuse / relay / socket placements for the install, as well as the relevant body panel removal. What I am not sure of is the two lateral attachment points (on either side just behind the seat belt entry sites). The two front attachments are identical to the front fasteners on the soft top. I was hoping Giampiero would have posted in response to this thread.
I was also hoping to do this myself and maybe I can (if I have the instructions)

Giampiero - all I have found so far are "Installation Instructions / manual" in English that shows you how to take the top off and put it back on. At the weekend I will unpack everything, take some pictures, and post some follow up to the board.

After looking at the car... it looks like you should have some h/w that replaces a small piece directly in front of the trunk hinges(one on each side), with the trunk open, you can see a screw to remove it. the wiring maybe more difficult.

Red_s2k,

The top attaches near the brush area where the soft top's main hinges are.

Look at the following two pages, and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Thanks Harvey. The drawings aren't overly clear (what connects to what), but it gives a good idea of the attachment. If the front just attaches to the existing catch bracket for the (soft) top, then it doesn't seem too difficult to install the two rear fixtures. A DIY man like me might be able to handle that.

Anyone have a straight profile shot of the S2K with the hardtop on?
