Default MOD SESSION MADNESS - anyone interested in doing Hondata heatshield gaskets and...?

As many of you are beginning to find out, the summer heat can put a hurtin' on our hi-revving fun, especially in traffic. Heat is the enemy, and my plan of attack involves installing hondata's gasket:

http://www.hondata.com/heatshield.html

and Nick's heatshield, now carried by Rick's:

http://www.ricks2k.com/products/ztec1.php

and either Spoon or Mugen thermostats, fan switches, and radiator caps.

This combo WILL help our F20C's run stronger in the summer heat, and year long as well.

I have no time frame for doing this mod, other than I'd like to do it with one or more others. Economies of scale and all. Also, we could save on shipping costs if we buy the stuff as a group.

Please post your interest here, and we'll work out the details as we go.

btw, my oven decided to die during last weeks mini corner-clearing session. We invaded Brad's house to finish the job - thanks Brad!

I would definitely be interested in doing some of these mods with you.

Definitely Do:
------------
Hondata Heatshield Gasket

Possibilities:
---------------
Spoon thermo / fan / rad cap

I would buy at the same time as you also if we could save on shipping and such.

Also, I would love for some help on doing one headlight if you are up to it. I'll bring the pizza and drinks.

Oh, one more thing.... Got word the car is in the "finishing stages" of being done. I was told the suspension has been fixed including the steering rack. All that is left he said was the alignment and painting. I should be on the road next week...hoping

The heatshield gasket is $60, the CF heatshield is $139 for natural CF finish.

The Spoon pieces, from inlinefour.com, are appx. $74.33 each for the t-stat and fan switch, not sure about rad cap.

The Mugen pieces, from King, are $45 for the switch, $69 for the t-stat, and $29 for the rad cap.

So a total cost, w/o shipping, for parts is like $342, going with the Mugen. May be able to better that price if we buy together.

Wow, those mugen prices are a lot cheaper. I always thought mugen would be the higher of the two. We should definitely buy together. An email to KingMotorsports would help in reducing our cost possibly.

this mod session will occur in the foreseeable future, meaning this year.

as far as future corner clearing sessions, my oven died so I need to get another one, then we'll be back in business.

Chiung--

All sounds good. If I can be of any help on supplies or such, feel free to ask.

I'm in, but I already have the heatshield. Are we all going to get the same products for a better deal? Mugen or Spoon?

Personally I'm interested in buying the hondata gasket and the mugen pieces.

If everyones interested in the spoon parts, there is a nice group price put on by the Speed Co. They are identical to the spoon co.
($145 shipped / 150 shipped via paypal for all 3 parts).
