well, unfortunatly, Jenner couldn't make it up today, but I still managed to ahve a good time. I changed out my plugs for some NGKs a step colder, and found the plugs to be similar to Ben's, with burnt insulators. Changing of the plugs gave me a few HP over last weeks best N/A run, which was like 189.x HP , and I started today with 192.5HP . After starting from all 0's again and a short while tuning, I was able to get 196.9HP with just a few more dips that need to be corrected. We found that fluctuations in temp, be it coolant or air intake drasticaly change the fueling. The OBd reader will be essential to getting it perfect and having uniform runs. Hopefully I will be getting a nice one that plugs into the Palm IIIc very soon. I still don't know why it is dynoing lower than some cars out there, but I am assuming heatsoak and the possibility that the dynos are different are doing it. The important thing for me now is that the fueling is much more uniform. I ran with the N20 again and put down 237.5HP and 171.4TQ.
there was also a few other cool cars that showed up, a track driven Porsche 944, and a nice Factory 5 shelby. My buddy Jay showed up with his Berlina and I got a shot of his sweet trunk setup that he just had done, looked REAL clean and sounded great his Rojas are very nice as well.
Here is a graph of my highest N/A run today. It was about a 4.4HP increase using the VAFC, however I suspect some heatsoak lowered what the actual gain would have been. No way to know until I get the scantool. Somehow we kept losing spark signal at high RPMs.
Here is a plot showing my highest N/A run against the nitrous shot. I hit the switch at about 4000 RPMs. The graph is in MPH to avoid the loss of spark signal.
Here is one graph I thought was interesting... It is my best N/A run against Max's. I notice that he is making more top end power than me, however I have more midrange. I am assuming that it is the difference in CAI and exhaust.
Yeah, it was the same crew as last week. Even the small kid They were telling me they like to see what everyone else is running so they know if they can beat them. They were asking about you too.
I still can't figure out why both of our numbers are lower than average. Especialy yours since I know alot of people confirm solid gains with the AEM. Whens the last time you checked your plugs? I couldn't believe mine
oh yeah GUY,come on GUY fo real . I never have but honda did the recall on them at about 22,000 and i'm at 36,000 now so it could be the problem. I'm going to change them when i put the other valve cover on this comming weekend.
