Alright, I included the
option, but please vote for your choice, or at least state your vote in a reply. I'd like as many opinions as possible, so that I can pass them on.
Alright, here's the deal - My dad regrets getting the E55 over the 550 Maranello, but the AMG has whet his appetite for a true supercar.
His first choice was the new DB7 GT, which he's already put a non-refundable $5k deposit. But Momentum Houston still doesn't know what color they're getting, and my dad does NOT want the baby blue that the rest of America is getting. It's a 435hp 6.0 V12, and rated at 0-60mph in 4.5sec, top speed 185mph.
His next choice was a Ruf RTurbo, Ruf's faster version of the 911 GT2. The car is by far the fastest and quickest, but stickers at $215k, not including the costs for importation and registration. 0-60mph in 3.7sec and 230mph.
Then there's the 911 GT2 that we saw at Momentum. The car is roughly the same price as the Aston (~$165k) but has much better performance. 0-60mph in 3.9sec, 198mph. $160k.
And today, he had his eye on the new 360 Challenge Stradale (he even read the entire article). For a tad more than the normal Modena ($195k vs. $160k) you get a more hardcore version. I'm not sure of the performance numbers, but mark my word, they ARE impressive.
So, what's your flava?
BTW, this is a serious thread.
at will, but please, post your opinion at least once.

James, the Aston wins in that department by far, but it's also the least performance-oriented. It's no minivan by any means, but when you're throwing around names like Ruf, Porsche, and Ferrari, the Aston Martin doesn't come close.
With that said, I think it's obvious my dad's next toy isn't gonna be a daily driver. Most likely it will be a weekend/car meet/track event car, and in that case, the other 3 are far better choices.
We track all our cars, and I don't think the Aston is the best choice.

So, all in all, my vote(post) goes towards the RUF.
