If you're going to track it I'd say Porsche. I think it will be a lot more reliable than the Ferrari in the long term.
If it was a car for a Sunday only drives then I'd say Ferrari.

RUF RTurbo (2wd narrow body ) would be my first choice. First fell in love with RUF back when the Yellow Bird first came out and the RTurbo is just the latest iteration of that car.
Second choice would probably be the Ferrari w/ a VERY close 3rd going to the GT2.

I voted for the Ferrari, but I'd get a 575 Maranello myself. (My wife says that once our website is up and making money I can go get one.) There's nothing sweeter than the sound of a Ferrari V12 (Road & Track had an article a few years back proving this), and the Maranello is absolutely gorgeous.
A couple of days ago I passed a 360 Modena whilst riding my horse. If the window had been down I would have offered to trade my horse for his but, alas, it wasn't. (I wouldn't really have traded Khaleel for the Ferrari because he's such a great horse, but I would have offered just to hear the reaction of the driver. )

One horse for 400 horses? Doesn't seem quite fair, Bill

Magician,
My dad almost got a used 550 Maranello, but opted for the E55 AMG. Now, he's on the rebound and wants to make up for it.
We've test-driven several 575M Maranellos (both the 6MT and the F1 semiauto), but unfortunately, it's WAY too softly sprung, especially for the top Ferrari (not including the Enzo). And with the optional Fiorano handling pack, it's much stiffer and such, but too jarring for a Maranello - the big daddy cruiser of the family. The exhaust is also rather muted, in comparison to the previous 550 Maranello.
Not to mention the price tag: The one my dad wanted (Fiorano handling pack and 6MT) was priced at just over $240k. For reference's safe, the '97 550 he was looking at was only $125k out the door.
