Default Anyone interested in an Engine/Tranny?

My car caught fire, and if I can find someone who wants to buy the engine and tranny, I'll buy it back and part the entire thing out.

Cost if local (or willing to come help take it out and pick it up) would be $2500, or higher if people want to bid on it.

Cost for all else would be $3000 + shipping.

Anyone seriously interested?

Pictures and the story there. Too bad we don't have any auto-forensics guys on the board. I'd really like to know what exactly went wrong.

Not an auto-forensic guru, but - I saw a similar issue where a small flame out from a hydraulic clutch fluid leak (not exactly same as oil) actually melted a hole in the battery which caused a battery fire that toasted the car.

Hope your insurance company does not give you any grief

Sorry to hear about your loss.

They were actually really cool about it...this after having a seat stolen twice and getting threatened, lied to, and called a liar by their "special investigator".

They have given me much more than I wanted. But still, there's no evidence of any type of flame where you'd think it started...I'll look over it more on Monday.
