I ve read coupla magazines and found some differences and similarities as ya'll already knew between those two.
In terms of each car numbers, STIs have a bit more than evos. But, in performance-wise, the evos pump out a little bit more power out of its 18psi stock turbo.

Interior: Mitshubishi might have tried to do the good job on that but, i think, they didnt. on the other hands, subaru did some nice job with its luxurious seats, steering wheels, and stuff. only thing i dont like is it got no raido substituted by some pointless covers with sti logos on.

What would you like to get considering all these?

I think I'd get the EVO because from the reviews it seems to be the better handling car. The STi might have better numbers but the EVO might have better feel. I take feel over numbers any day. Either one is great bang for the buck.

If I just wanted a track car, I'd go with the Evo. I think the STi is a better daily driver. Both are great though...

Neither, if you put a turbo on a pile of $hit, it's still a pile of $hit with 19 or 14 pounds of boost. If I had to get a new car now, I would go Mini. I test drove one today, it's like driving a go cart, and twice as fun . I know it's not the fastest car on the road, but the Mini S is no slouch! RX-8's are nice too, hopefully an new RX-7 isn't too far behind!!

I personally would get the STi as it costs more, hence more resale value. If this was hypothetical situation was true...anyone wanna buy a brand new STi with less than 10 miles?

Well, I've certainly racked my brain over this one.

After 15 years I'm finally ready for a new car, lol. Think I have it narrowed down to STi, Evo or the good ole S2000. Of the three, I've only driven the S - very nice!

I have been lucky enough to at least ride in an Sti. The way it and the Evo are being guarded, one would think they sold for 10 times their cost and utilized classified military secrets.

My take is that the STi is slightly more mature, probably a little more streetable and most likely better in terms of long-term reliability. The Evo is probably the better all-out track car... at least on a stock vs stock or equal mod basis.

I'm leaning toward the STi. Sure wish they could have been a bit lighter.

Does anyone know where I can actually drive one of these things in Oregon? It sure would be nice to actually get a real feel for both the Evo and STi before buying.

Just because a car is "capable" performance wise does not make it any less of a piece of shit.

Right now I would get the EVO 8 as it is $1000 below MSRP, the STi's I have seen around here have a $3000-$5000 markup, so that would be about $5000-$7000 over the EVO in real $.
