SC'd S2K & Chipped S4
At 5000+ Lbs(OK.. apperently more like 3600lbs) and able to seat 4... all I can say is WOW...
He's had the car about a year now and has a number of mods on it. Besides the chip he has some special Turbo plumbing, Blow off valves and larger down pipes etc... Also a Nuespeed exhaust that looks killer.. Says he has about 320HP at the crank... But what really interested me was his "Stop Tech" brakes. Unfortunately they don't have an application yet for the S2K.
OK, onto the driving... I decided to take a drive down south of Big Sur today, gorgeous day and all... Just North of Big Sur I pass a long line of cars one of which is the S4... I'm thinking to myself... I hope he wants to play...
Well after a few more miles he comes up behind me and as most all the other cars are going to places around Big Sur the road opens up in front of us
With his turbos spooled up and producing full boost already at 2.4K he's on my butt as I punch it in 2nd gear around 4500... He stays on my tail until my SC really starts to kick in the boost, about 6500 or so is when I start to walk away from him. Shifting into 3rd at the rev limiter I continue to walk away. Not by much mind you... could be that he was giving himself some margin of safety... All this occurring on a long straight passing zone overtaking the last vehicle for a few miles. Then come the turns
I must say I was very impressed with how he negotiated them considering the speed we were going... Looked like he had some understeer in some of the corners and later he mentioned he wanted to get a new sway bar to help with that...
All in All a very exhilarating 20 miles....

So Dave, I guess I need to get in contact with this guy and find what he did to his car. Did you get his number? By the way, is his car lowered and those otteninger wheels are nice. I have my eye on those as well. The first pic looks like a Santorin blue but the bottom pic looks like Nagaro blue. I saw my S4 today and it still had all the shipping stuff all over it. I would imagine he had a 6 speed right?
Not that I recall though I think with his setup that stock mode is still better than a stock S4... improved plumbing etc... I'm not that familiar with turbo setups in general and this S4 setup in particular, but I'm pretty sure their ECU has a certain amount of control over the amount of boost generated. If that is indeed the case then I imagine he was not at his full boost potential. He also mentioned turbo upgrades that could generate well in excess of 400HP.
SS: yes his car is lowered, he has Koni shocks and i forgot what type of springs.
QR: He said something about flashing his headlights and attempting to change modes while driving.. i dont think he was succesfull in doing that though ;-) going to fast i guess.

I raced a chipped S4 multiple times about a month ago. Here is his car http://www.imolas4.com/ . The story was pretty much the same as this one. 2nd and 4rd gear pulled the car away, but then he stayed. I had 2+ car lengths, but by the time I hit 130 I wasn't gaining any more. He has the chip that he can change mode in, he definitely was in race mode.
