Hello my name is dan, i have a formula red 2000s2k, i am looking for some other s2k owners, to maybe get together for a ride this sunday...i live in lawrenceville....and i know some great roads to drive on through princeton and new hope......we can stop and have lunch outside of new hope pa......if anyone wants to go let me know........i ride my motorcycle through this loop and its great and i know it will be great in the s2000.....

Its unfortunate you missed the last NH ride. I think we ended up with about 35 cars. I'll be headed to JPs farewell on Saturday, but this is my backyard, so I should be there as well.

Send me a PM with some of your choice of roads, perhaps I could suggest some additional ones.

ps - Are you the red that parks in front of Triumph periodically?

You may want to post in DelVal as well, but be prepared for a larger than expected gathering if you do.

 

i am thinking about maybe meeting around 11am, or maybe earlier....and hayitsgary, i do park in princeton allot.......ithink i am the only red s2k around, i havent seen many......do you all know where the quarker bridge mall is? i was thinking about meeting there......there is an open lot, off of quaker bridge road...there used to be a bank there, it has a brown pull up window....so let me know whos in.....now as in roads....i ride my motorcycle threw many roads i dont know the names of, but most of them are twisty......they go threw princeton, hopewell, west amwell, newhope, french town......i guess evryone can follow me.....there are many great views...and a few covered bridges...i dont have a map, buts its all in my head i did the loop before and with a lunch break in new hope and a picture opprotunity at an airfield out in the middle of bucks county, it should be about a 3-4hr ride.......more or less.....it will be really cool to meet other s2k owners.....alittle about myself..as in driving...i would consider myself as an semi agressive driver.....i tend to enjoy going quickly in the twisties and just cruise on the flats....as in posting in other sections..i am really kind of new so..heyitsgary if you want to post..go for it...it will be a good time...

My comments:

I'd recommend writing down the directions for people to have, or at least a person in the middle and the person in the back of the group. Driving by yourself or with 1 or 2 others is very different than leading a group of (as few as) 6 or (up to 10 or 12). More than that and you'll need to have multiple groups. You'll never keep a group of more than 12 together for a 3 hours without some sort of directions and luck.

I'd recommend radios. This should be a requirement for all drives. Probably the only real way to make sure everyone knows where they are going. Even with directions, people will rely on you to point out turns, stops, oncoming dangers, bikers/walkers, debri, etc... Pick a channel before the meet, and those early at the meet can listen for people as they arrive.

The Mall works well. You'll need to be more specific about the meeting spot. I'm there all the time, and don't know the building with the drive up window'. How about in the open lot across from Applebees/Firestone. -- People coming from the QB Road entrance just come in and go to the right, people coming off of Rt 1 would go to the left around the mall.

Depending on where the route starts, the New Hope Park and Ride works well as well.

I'd also considering making your cell phone number available so that people can call you with any last minute changes that morning. Nothing worse than expecting to leave at 11AM, and have people not show/call, and you've waited 30/45/60 minutes for them.

well everyone, gary has many great ideas, ill try to write down the directions from atleast the mall to new hope....

need list: this is stuf that everyone must have for the ride!
1: a walkie talkie with multi channel function..radio shack has them for cheap.
2:cell phone
3:sun block
4;who ever is definatly in leave me your cell number via private message.....
5; then i will reply with my cell, so we can comunicate for the ride....
6;watch or some time piece so every one will be on time for departure time.
7atience, because this is my first time doing this
8:extra baterries
9; cameras..take allot of pics

and finally a spelling dictionary for me because i cant spell worth shit.....

hope all goes well, any one in must pm with cell number to verify that you will be showing up...i need them just incase you are running late on arriving at the mall....

lets make sure everyone meets at 11am and we will leaving at 11:45 sharp!
that leaves a 45 min window if you dont show.....your loss....must be on time.......everyone will have my cell if there is any cancellations...

ok, i had written a reply, but i dont know where it went,
everyone who want to go,reply please, evryone needs a walkie talkie, i just picked one up at radio shack for 20bucks, i will have the directions ready for everyone...if you are going to come give me a cell number, so if your not at the meeting point, i can call....
we are meeting at the quaker bridge mall behind apple bees and next to the firestone shop.....the time will be at 11am and we will be leaving at 11:45am......sharp! hope to see a good showing....the trip consists of allot of back roads, most of them twisy...and some flats, we will go threw allot country..i cant wait.
