Well, April may look great in the mud but she looks better in grease. This weekend was the Caliper Paint and Rotor Clinic at w1ngman's (Dave) house.
Here's a quick recap.
Friday- All the folks meet Airgate, w1ngman, Taska, Rodney, Klassyblue, April, dkhl, and VAS2K (sorry if I left some people out, but I was not there) [edited by w1ngman to include entire group that had dinner & then ice cream ]. Meanwhile, I was finishing up WORK and then making a midnight run to Richmond.
Sat- After some tech problems, we finally get the rotors and calipers off Raul's (Airgate) car....he theatened us with log-in problems if we didn't work like ants to get his done first
While Dave and Raul are doing the brakes and rotors on Airgates car, I use my skilled hands to mix TOXIC paint. April & I put 4-5 coats of caliper paint on. Then, I was geared up to do some manly work i.e. change the rotors (he says beating his chest and spraying all the while chanting " I am man") only to have April shove me aside. She changed her own rotors and brake pads, fresh manicure and all.....THATA GIRL. FF2SKIP (Skip) and +1 (his wife Janet) decide to stop by and lend "moral support". Just so happens they had a full cooler of beer. They proceed to get tanked, while everyone else is working (j/k). Then Rodney (god, I never remember his login name) shows up in his brand new Acura. When all was said and done, it was 9pm, +1 getting ready to gnaw her own arm because she so hungery....Skip was happy as long as the booze was flowin'. So we all head out to dinner. Realize, none of us had time to shower, so we go in looking like hell. Except for April and Janet....womenfolk always look nice. I, on the other hand, had red paint encrusted hands, dirty t-shirt and short while wearing flip-flops.....TRAILER TRASH!. Pretty soon, we turned into "that table" with conversations ranging from sex in the s2000 to shortbus kids. All the while, Raul threatened anyone who gave him crap with "login problems"....tyrant
Sun- Frantic call from Dave at 9am. He broke the drill bit off in his rotor. So, while he off to Lowe's, April and I head over to the w1ngcave. Dave and I get the rotors off, get his new ones on and haul ass to meeting place for the afternoon drive. KaMcDonald shows up his new 360...NICE and we headed off for a nice, laid back drive.
All in all, it was a GREAT weekend.

Really was a terrific weekend! I had a blast hosting and I'm really glad so many of us rolled away with sweet new brakes . Taska did not get to see mine until after I'd arrived home from the drive this evening. She likes them very much!!! . Tuesday night I'm off to Herndon, VA to pick up my 17" 3-PC Racing Hart C2 rims from S TWO K...they will look AWESOME with the new rotors
Enough of that...this is about April gettin' dirty! Lemme tell all ya'll sumpin'..."CHIX RULE!!!". Not only did April want (and DO) everything herself with only my guidance...she did it WELL!!!. Look at those pics Steve took! And Steve is right...he and April did the painting stuff together...but if anyone has ever switched brakes, backed out pistons, replaced pads, removed rotors...the whole schmear...April took to it with both [dirty] hands! . And not only that...she LEARNED what she actually did. This Sunday morning there was no way in Hell I would have had my rotors/pads switched out in time had April not been willing to tag-team the effort with me. She did the removals on each as I came around installing my new rotors/pads behind her. Thanks TONS April!!!!! .
Just a great weekend...and the greatest friends in the whole world. Thanks!!!!!

Dave, what a weekend! Thank you so much for my lesson in the garage, my dad would be proud Im glad to have done my own work, and then help you Sunday morning, that was the best reward for me. Cant wait for what will be next.
