Default Car Went Bang at the Strip!!!

Getting ready at the light for my elimination round at the strip tonight. Drop the clutch and here a bang in the rear end. Have to get push back. I put the car in gear and all you could here is grinding. Anyways myself and a couple other guys get underneath too see what is it. The consensis is a blown U joint and maybe a driveshaft. Gonna have it taken in on Tuesday to get fixed. I did suck though having my car towed home on a flat bed.

Worst part about it is i know i cut a good light!!!

Sorry to hear about the trouble.

A broken shaft or joint will be easy to see and diagnose. However, based on the reports of others that have had this problem at the drag strip, I fear that it may have been the differential that failed.

first of all, there isn't a single U joint on the s2000.

second, I had a similar thing happen to me at autocross. The splines on the left driveshaft at the outer cv joint wore off, had to replace the driveshaft. That car was NA.

Actually Josh, The steering column has 2 U-Joints.

However, The drivetrain contains no U-Joints.
