nope, I don't get tired of this b/c its true.
As much as might want to believe otherwise, this is not a race car. Hence, the problems with the diff when it launched at high rpms. Let me correct myself, its not a drag car. Track racing/ auto-x are different, If you want to drag the car, go ahead, you paid for it. But, don't break and then expect Honda to cover nor expect sympathy from people that know better i.e. most experienced owners.

it all boils down to abuse, and IMO, sidestepping or dumping the clutch on any car at high rpms is ABUSE, you don't want to do that to your own car. it just doesn't last long.

This seems like a never-ending topic-- If warranty shoud cover it because of ads and such. Just to put things in a better light, remember the toyota corolla commercial awhile back?
where the car was sliding around the streets and freeway? And also hitting a few empty 5gal water bottles? Try going to a toyota dealer and tell them to warranty a busted front bumper and 4 flat spotted tires because of the commercial... Now before anyone gets all feelings and stuff, Just remember that every type of "race" car is well prepared/reinforced to take the "harder" driving style. And either way, THEY BREAK TOO... I do however, sympathize with your condition. It just sucks to have sweet car and crap breaks..... Maybe Honda will improve it next time...

I believe that has it tenblade2001, right there it says 6 seconds, thats how long it takes the s2000 to reach 60mph FROM A COMPLETE STANDSTILL.

I sure as hell would get it fixed under warranty, then see what you can do to make that thing a little bit stronger so it doesn't happen again.

Exactly what do you consider a "drag car" and why? Are you just recyling crap you read here? I'm really looking forward to your opinion on this. What makes a drag car in your opinion...
I have autocrossed and I wouldn't do a 6K drop off of the line. I should be able to make up the time with good driving tech. Drag cars are built for low-end speed and as such are geared different and have components that will hold up to the forces applied to them i.e. stronger diffs. Our diffs are not made for that, plain and simple. That's why you see post like this or people that go FI and tear the hell out of their diffs. Look, you can do 8K drops for all I fukin care. But if you do, and you expect Honda to pay for your stupidity (and by default make it harder for legit claims to get taken care of) you're going to get flamed....Period, end - of - story

why is it you dont usually leave second gear on an auto-x course? yet, you usually get into 4th on a drag strip.

i guess you never seen a mustang/z28/vette or anything of the like(what people typically consider drag cars) blow a diff? honelty i seen more of them pop rears then S2000s at the track but thats obviously becasue 100:1 ration at the track as well...

but as i suspected, i got the generic "Not a dragster" awnser to my question.
what point were trying to make with your example, b/c you failed miserably. You just pointed out that "drag cars" blow out their rears on a track. Why is that? Becuase they are not designed for PROLONGED high rpm. They are designed for high amount of force over a short period of time....go past that and you blow out your rear diff. That is why the S excells as a track car b/c its designed to stay in higher average rpm range than those cars. The price we pay for this is off- the line power. When you can think of better example, please do so but for now, every attempt you make is failing; simple rule of logic, if you base a conclusion on a false assumption (as you have) your conclusion can not help but be false.

After reading my last few post its clear that the tone has changed from an exhange of opinions to a bitch session....and I admit I'm partly to blame.
ViruX23, sorry for the flames. I'm sure your cool in person and I might meet you on a drive sometime ie. Dragon or FC, so I'll just bow out now and agree to disagree.

NMs2000, sorry to hear about the car and hope you get it back on the road soon.
