Just thought I would throw this out as a heads up for those living near Lancaster, CA and shopping for a new 04 GPW.

Yeah. Not cool to run through the break in like that. On a lighter note, the exhaust note sounds a lot deeper in that vid than on the previous years. Anyone else think so, or is just from the wind, etc.?

 

yeah vtec before break in damn must have alot of miles on that car

 

It's obvious what this guy says in the beginning of this video, but I'll give somebody a dollar if they can tell me what he says at the end.


I am struggling to get through this break in period. I have about 175 miles in three days. Watching those revs climb and hearing the sounds close to the red line got my heart racing. I watched it like 50 times.

Break-in is a thing of old...the engines and cars today are engineered to be driven the way you want from day 1. The only reason they have left this in the car manuals is tradition.

If you are talking a 67 camaro, yes you need break-in, on a 2004 Honda motor...not really

Revving up a cold motor on the other hand, that can cause some real damage.

 

Thing of old? Then why do some cars come in with factory "break in oil" only?
