Default My system plans, will it work?

I plan on the Lucid sub box, I have a Visonik mids/highs amp, dimensions 3.25" x 12.625" x 20.875" (H W L) and a Visonik sub amp, dimensions 3.25" x 12.625" x 18" (H W L), and I want to place one where the tools are, and one inside the spare tire. Will the Lucid box still be flush with the trunk bed if I have an amp under there? And will the other one fit inside the spare tire?

as best as i can remember...

no and no.

the sub box won't fit flush w/ an amp under it (and the tools) and if you remove the tools, i'm not sure that Lucid's box will work anyway.

and if i recall correctly, the max dimensions on a amp inside the spare tire are 14" by 14" square (or so).

still -- you're in the best position to answer you own question.
if you have an S -- i would just go out there and measure yourself.
or take your amps out to your car and see if they'll fit.

Also putting an amp under the sub box is a bad idea. There is no way to keep the amp cool. I'm going though this problem right now.

What kinda solutions have you all come up with? I dont want to see the amps, I want this as clean as possible. What if I mounted an amp, vertically, on each side of the trunk, and made some carpeted cover to cover it up? Then maybe cut our small holes in each bottom corner and put fans there. Would that work?

you could do something like my install, and just not use plexiglass...

http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.p...threadid=129084

i still have my tools under my amps, and i made my amp rack thin enough to where i (plan) can slip it into the area where the spare tire is and still store a full size tire in the trunk...
also, the e8a in William's box is a very strong sub.

for a boatload of other solutions -- check out the "Stereo Install Pictures Here" thread that's sticky at the top of the forum.

and scorpion.... i'm sorry to hear my heat predictions have come true.... if you'd like some suggestions or need some help, just let me know.

As of right now I plan to make the well in the trunk my box by simply covering the hole with wood and sealing it. I guess I will have to remove the spare tire and place my amps in there, along with a few fans.

Heres my entire setup, and the sub and sub amp are only what I have planned. So tell me what you think about those choices.

well, i would start by checking out the S2000 Audio FAQ, as it will cover some of your questions.

honest accessment? you can do better than Sony amps for the money, and while NY will tell you differently - i don't prefer Audiobahn subs. it will depend upon the type of sound you're wanting to get.
i think effectively sealing the well for a sub might be trickier than you think, and i would instead suggest that you make a fiberglass box that fits w/in the well. bombrman is the best guy to talk to for making boxes, as he's made quite a few.

and if you're willing to give up use of the spare, i'd definitely mount my amps where the spare tire is.

Well putting the amps in the spare tire is pretty much my only option, right? I hear Sony amps arent great, but money takes a back seat when it comes to my sub setup, I dont want anything crazy loud, just something to add some bass ya know. I dont want to pay 177 for Wlaurent's box when the Lucid box is only 100. What kind of sound would an Audiobahn make?

How about this... in your opinion, what box, sub, and amp would you get for 400?

Or even, would a Infinity Bass Link work? Its cheap, small, and I hear it gives decent bass....

well, if you're going to fill in the spare tire well you can't store a full sized tire, so there's no sense in keeping the spare.

now, as far as doing what you're asking in that budget -- i have no doubt it can be done, but i'm the wrong person to ask...

b0mbrman is the dude for bass on a budget... i'll PM him and ask him to make some suggestions... i think he already makes a few in the FAQ...
