Juliann just passed each popular tire combination over the scale... And the winner is <drumroll>

1.JDM/Hoosier!
32.5lb/32.5lb - F/R

2.Stock/Hoosier
38lb/38.5lb - F/R

3.Stock/Kumho
42lb/44lb - F/R

There you have it... the only combination we don't have in the garage is JDM/Kumho which by my calculations would be 36.5lb/38lb. These were all done on a digital scale with .5lb resolution, but they were all done on the same day, on the same scale with the same user! (Thanks Jules!)

Steal my thunder, why don't you. <grumble>

My guesses were actually pretty close to the actual weights

Hey.....

Was that one of those sets of Hoosiers you'd worn down to belts!

I'll try and get a weight on the JDM/Kumho!

The 225 Kumho is 4.8lbs heavier than the Hoosier, and the 245 is 5.8lbs heavier. This from a digital scale that is +/- 0.1lb.

I think y'all can do the math from there.

Anyone have a feel for how much more or less the YOKO ROAD RACE (ao32 or something like that) tires weigh in comparison, in the same sizes?

I am probably going to order them to drive to the track, on the track and back home... (no auto-x for me...not enough activity for an entire days worth of time)

thanks

Scot

That's right Scot, autoX is okay for old folks like me who have nothing better to do with their time, but hell on young people that have a life.

Mack,

That was a friendly shot at Scot and only Scot. He seems to think that autoXing is only for old farts that either don't have a life or have used their life up. I was just picking on him. Scot's a great guy but he just doesn't "get" autocrossing.

Yeah, you've got a life! If your subs crews are anything like most of them down here you spend half your time making sure all the ex-cons stay honest, sober, and not stoned while they're working on your jobs. It may be worse down here near the beach but I'm sure you've got your share.

BTW, now I really want a set of those JDM's!
