So the LM-22's seem to be the best bet, at $122 and $135 in stock sizes.
Apparently these wheels fit the S2000 (and don't look so bad) at $115/ea:

For ~$1050 shipped (ready to go on when they reach my door), it seems like a pretty decent deal - no hassle with mounting and balancing and such.

Any thoughts? Is there a cheaper wheel that will do the job?

Winter here in Maryland is a real toss-up. Typically it's just wet and cold, or wet slushy snow and ice. Oh yeah, they love to throw ice at us here...

You could probably get a set of OEM wheels used for about the same cost as those and have a guaranteed perfect fit.

Yeah, soo... find wheels locally for about $100/ea, add $80 mount/balance... I think this deal is good, assuming these wheels that Dallas recommended to me (x267) will indeed fit the S2000 no problem.

For whatever it's worth, Jim recommended that very same wheel and tire combination to me in late October. At that point, he had the Blizzaks, but not the wheels. He expected arrival of the Sport Edition Fox 5 wheels in early November, so I presume they are in. I just tried calling him myself, and he's out until Saturday, Dec. 6.

Although Munckee may be right about used OEM wheels, I sure haven't had any luck locating any used ones in my area for around $115... maybe others have had better success than me.

I will probably buy this wheel/tire combo myself... unless I buy a 4wd beater this weekend, which is a possibility.

Thanks for the tip - I went ahead and ordered this combo yesterday from Dallas, since Jim has been unreachable (he did leave me a message while I was out yesterday, but wasn't there when I returned his call).

I'll get some pix when they arrive. If what everyone says about these is true, this should be a fun winter!

I need to pick up some winter tires. my car got stuck and it's parked on a random road now cause every time i tried to go anywhere my back would just slide to the right! fuuuck!

I know that feeling. A couple of slushy winters ago the only way i could get off the main road was to essentially "drift" in a straight line with the ass-end out to the right

I'm really excited to be getting these, but by the time they get here the snow will be gone... I'm sure more will be on the way, though.

 

how much of a difference to these blizzaks make? the car's still extremely light so it'll probably still suck in the snow.. lemme know how it goes
