Default Best vehicle under $900?

Hypothetical question only.

If you wanted to find the best possible vehicle under $900, what would be your choice?

The only limits are that it has to be in running order at the time of purchase (ie. no "I'd buy a run down XXX and then pay to fix it up) and it has to be reasonably reliable.

Cheaper is always better.

Mid-1980's Honda motorcycle. Lots of choices under $900.

80's Toyota MR2.

Solid cars, very little to go wrong in the way of electronics, easy access to most of the motor. Cheap parts and tires.

Not the safest car in terms of crash protection nor the most practical due to the two seat limit.

I think one of the "datsun" 200sx's... from the early 80's.... I think they switched in 1980 to look pretty cool.... had the NAPZ engine with 2 spark plugs per cylinder....4 wheel discs, rear wheel drive, seating for 4 (if 2 are very small).....

I thought you meant $900/month J/K

For that money it's hard to say. It's going to depend on what you can find. I mean if you find a 89 integra that was owned by a little old lady who only drove it to church? Who knows...

Many examples of 85-92 Jettas and Golfs can be found in that price range. I bought my 87 GLI that came with the 1.8L 16v motor, stock Recaro seats, and working A/C for 200.
