Yes, you need the conditioner. I think thats the part of the cleaning/treating that actually puts the water resistance back on the top. I know the proper name of the spray is listed on https://www.s2ki.com. The conditioner I got from Porsche was an aerosol. Make sure you tape off all the painted areas and windows before spraying it on! Go to https://www.s2ki.com/faqs/faq_top.php for the writeup they have!

Before you rush out and buy something new, you might want to take a look at the Fabric Top??? topic by jcoates1. If the information he gives is to be believed, you could be wasting your money.

i have both...
the shampoo is excellent (i wash the entire car with it).
the conditioner is a pain to apply. really hard to get on the top- it likes to fly everywhere else!
be careful when using it. best to use in the garage with no wind.
i used it when i first got the car, then realized that the top rarely needs to be cleaned.
comments on the board indicated that other products were just as good (you might try searching for this).
probably will spray it again after about a year...
(my top is almost never up though).

YES! Don't waste your money. The convertible top info on https://www.s2ki.com is wrong. As is other things on that site they seem print as fact. They need a better fact checker.

The top on the S2000 is NOT FABRIC. It is in fact vinyl (PVC = Poly Vinyl Chloride).

Yeah, I read your post in the other thread . . . I think I'm going to get the Meguiar's #40 Vinyl Cleaner/Conditioner stuff instead. Thanks.
