Im buying a new softtop for MY00 coverting a glass from plastic, but i thought our softtop was made out of vinyl but the vinyl top is cheaper. Can someone reassure me what top to buy. Canvas or vinyl???

The stock top is vinyl. A few replacement companies make a cloth top. The vinyl is easier to care for. I'd stick with vinyl.

vinyl tops (all s2000s) are way easier to care for than cloth...
and besides, most cloth tops are on larger cars- the s2000 top is tiny!

my wife's bmw top is cloth. a real pia to protect- we have to mask the entire car away from the top (after washing and drying) before spraying the preservative on it. we put a couple of sheets under the top and then mask the rear window. it is much more difficult to clean too, imo.

with a vinyl top, you wash it with whatever you want to use (car shampoo is perfect), dry it and coat it well with the preservative then buff it out.
