Default Yikes!!!

GUYS!!!! Help! I just started my car (cold start up) and it started but this time the rev's seem to go up to 2.5k and then I let go of the clutch and my car just died out. Then I started it again but it seemed fine and nothing is wrong. My question is what made the car died out when I first turn on the car? No, it wasn't in gear. I am not to worried about it. Maybe a misfire or could it be something else serious?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mine has done that once when it was very cold - I had the heating set to max and stereo on... turned key, pushed red button, let go off clutch, revs dropped to 1k and the car just stalled. Started it again w/some gas and all was good.

I'm assuming the S needs a little more gas & coaxing in cold weather than other cars.

It is not uncommon when it is very cold to feel the engine slow when the clutch pedal is released, but I have never had an engine die just from that.

This has happened to me a few times in cold weather.
I chalk it up to the fact that our cars are made in Japan and are not designed for (extreme) cold starts.

It's the ECU trying to figure things out. Give it a few cold start mornings and it'll be worked out.

Since the weather has gotten colder, my car always starts with a roar, up around 2500 rpm, then settles down. My only thought about the stalling might be that a cold tranny, even in neutral, might add more drag to the engine than a warm one.

My car hesitated badly once as I was heading down a hill with my foot off the gas. I promptly went back up the hill to try it again but had no problem. I've done the same thing many times since and no problem. Sometimes I think it's the alignment of the moon and stars.
