Texas insurance question
In other states, I know that when a car is flooded, it's an automatic total. Anyone know how that works in Texas? My car is ok, but I know others are not and I was curious to know now that it's come up in discussion.
Thanks...

I had a car flooded, or rather totalled by water and by a driver (by driving the car like his truck and it blew the motor). because of the hundreds if not thousands of cars that were totalled by the flood in Houston back in Feb of 92, insurance companies/agents didn't even have time to check out all the cars, they just paid up what it was worth. Very prompt I might add. Didn't effect my insurance at all either.
But because of flooding and hurricaines, I'm sure its no surprise that even we - being in Austin, far into the mainland, will pay the premium for hurricaine and flood damages since Houston cannot foot the bill everytime.
