Sweet! Just to let you know. Handle the headers with gloves. Swab with alchohol if your anal!

Take the heat shield off to install. You need to take the engine mounting block off to get the headers up there(trust me we tried). The first design let you slide it up there with a little finageling but this one isn't possible! Fito and Pepe say you can rock the engine to get it to drop in but I would rather not mash my headers.

Good luck! Time should be about an hr! If you got the tools take the factory heat shield out your self it is pretty easy just tough to get to some of the bolts but it will save your installer mondo amounts of time!

With the new headers in the heat shield sticks out farther so I needed a special tool that is like a regular C chaped wrench with a O a the other end but it was a wratcheting O. Really neat thing!

Put the factory heat shield back before you put the new Mugen heat shield on or you will be leaning over your engine for an hr!

If you followed all that great! If not you will learn as you go.

Good luck and I know you will be happy! Give it a day or so to break in though. My donut didnt seal up right away.

Well you got the old headers thats fine. Even better your running it without the heat shield. I did it for a while. No ill effects!

As for doing it only with just a couple feet(dunno) You need like the whole height of the headers I would say about 2-3 feet! If you only have 2 feet its gonna be tight!!!! I mean real tight. Some serious manuvering is needed! MAKE SURE you take out the O2 sensor first!!! Watch the clips they will break if your not gentile!

If you got some big jack stands you will be ok. As for getting the headers off I think its just a 10mm same for the heat shield. I didnt do the install but they were not huge!

Any more questions.

I assume the wrench you are talking about is a ratcheting box-end. What sizes are needed?

Although I can take it to a shop with a lift, it would be more convenient for me to do it in my garage. Do you recall if there is enough room under the car to maneuver the headers if I have it up only a couple of feet? Or can the header be removed and installed from the top?

Raise the car on the front about 14 inches or more if you can. That way you will have room to move the header.

You will need:

Ratchet: 10mm, 12mm and 14mm
Open wrench: 10mm, 12mm, and one for the O2 (don't remmeber the size, big)
Various extensions and those little things that allow you to twist the cup connection.

Piece of cake, did it in my garage in about two hours. Took me an extra 45 minutes because of the new heat shield brackets which are larger than the old design and hit the engine mount. Try to rock the engine sideways to get it through once you have it in. You don't need much movement just a slight move so it goes through.
