DC SS header installed, first impressions
Dyno will follow soon, but these are my impressions after install.
First, stock headers weigh approx. 22lbs, DC JetHot coated Stainless approx 12lbs. so there's a savings of about 10lbs, give or take 1lb. So the stock one isn't as heavy as I thought.
Secondly, there appears to be more torque on the top end. Up until yesterday, I've never been able to chrip my 1-2 shift. And no, I don't think my car is particularly weak. On my last dyno, it was putting down 200hp at the wheels. anyways, today, I 'short' shifted 1-2 at 8k, chirp... I was suprised. Then later on, I shifted at 9, and it was a healthy bark.
Other ranges, I donno, I have a dull butt dyno and I won't attempt to guess, I'll let the dyno do the talking. But I suspect that one will see top end power.

That was my impession also....I caught rubber in1-2 shift at about 8500 for the first time after my install.
Also noticed that it took the ECU about 30 min of driving to reset the feul mixture. Right after install, idle wanted to drop down to almost stall (about 300 - 400 rpm) but low end was great during that time. Looking forward to your Dyno results.
BTW, Are you still stock exhaust?

My dyno was done and I can't tell the HP because so many mods were done. But on the dyno there was a big gain at 6k-9k rpm.
My dyno was
193.5HP-137.6TQ run w/no nos only mods
241.8HP-168.8TQ run w/nos 50 shot w/mods
My mods are
Injen intake (bad move)
DC header (good mod)
strait pipe cat converter (bad move)
HKS Exhaust (great sound not sure on HP?)
Zex nos kit (best hp at wheels 50 shot=50HP)
all in all my intake will be removed and cat. will be replaced.
JR filter did add 2-3hp on other stock S's there at the dyno for the Atlanta chapter.

Have you noticed any change in the engine compartment temperature, with the coated headers? And are you still using the insulated area around the air intake box? I am curious, because my engine compartment seems excessive. Look forward to your dyno results.
