Default Custom Audio...

I want to put one 10" subwoofer behind each seat in my '04 S2K. Does anyone know if that is possible? I'm wondering if the spare tire will get in the way or if there might be something else that I can't see between the back seats and the trunk. Thanks for all the help.

I second the suggestion for the electronics forum.

The available opening behind the rear seats will hold a 5.25" speaker and possibly some 6.5" speakers. Anything larger diameter than that and you have to cut metal so the speaker basket can fit. Pop off the panel and take a look.

yup... Electronics forum.... us junkies love these kinds of questions in there...

and the short answer is -- no, you can't w/o major metal cutting, possible frame compromise, dealing with the deck that the top sits in, and potentially having to modify the gas tank.

I believe JL makes a 6"sub, that may work, but no promises.

Recommendations on speakers to put in the Lucid Speaker holes?

Did you go component speakers or 2-way?

How far behind the seats?

If you mount them WAY behind the seat I am sure you could get them to fit. (Read: in the trunk, dude.)

The cabin is not that big. 2x10" in the cabin would rattle all your teeth loose! (Not to mention every body panel in your car.)

What's wrong with putting it in the trunk?
