Default Mugen SS2200 Hood Install Pics

Arggghhh!!! This thread lost half my work!!! I'll finish this later....):

OK, Now you will need to remove the tubes connecteting the nozzles to the pump. Start with the L shaped tubes connecting to the two nozzles which are on top of your hood. While holding the nozzle on top, twist the "L" shaped tube and it should come apart fairly easily. After squeezing the tubes out of the plastic "hangers" you will find they lead to the passenger side, where once again it's a simple twist to get it off. Set these aside

At this point your partner and you need to face off ,each holding one side of the hood while unscrewing the 4 10 mm bolts connecting the hood to the car. Remove the upper two bolts first, then the bottom two simultaneously while lifting the hood with your free arm. (thats why you need 2 people!)
Warning! there are 2 brittle plastic washers on each side of the 10mm bolts, make sure you don't break them! These washers keep vibration etc to a minimum, and you'll need them to install your new hood. If your successful the end result should look like this.

Set your stock hood down on that soft blanket or material. And contemplate the awesome look of your new hood..
At this point I'd like to say that if Mods are your kind of thing, then Mugen is the way to go. My neighbor and I were mesmerized by the sheer AMOUNT of carbon Fiber. I've seen other hoods by other manufacturers that just can't hold a candle to this. It is a very fine weave, beautiifully crafted, and the attention to detail is scary. This picture can't do it justice, as it also has a chameleon affect to turn black and then yellow/black at certain angles. At night it is seemingly black, and my car looked very scary!

The installation for the carbon hood is reverse order, and pattern your hangers on the new hood after your stock one.

Note- The instructions stated thatsome adjustment may be needed to align your hood. But mine came out with perfect gaps, once again Mugen for you.

The car SEEMS faster now, but may be in the 4th grade way that my Keds used to make me run faster. All kidding aside, my engine runs 12 degrees cooler (in the bay) now, all is cool. Unfortunately, I feel like I'm driving a ferrarri as for the attention this simple change makes. Of course having the full Intake is the advantage with this hood as no cutting is neccessary, especially in conjunction with the bumper. I will post on these when they arrive. Banzai..

BB AP1, the price is listed on King Motorsports site. $2,600 dollars....!!! While it is rather expensive, the value is priceless....to me. After seeing it in person, I felt like I could have just as easily hung it up on the wall. Someone spent a loooong time making it. And in retrospect it''s kind of a bargain really.

I think it looks like your original hood got damaged, you replaced it with the cheapest thing you could find, and haven't painted yet.

But that is just me...

What? Anyone who knows anything about cars will automatically be able to tell it's carbon fiber hence expensive. Additionally, anyone who can tell it's carbon fiber will know that it's finished and doesn't need to be painted, especially on a black car. While the looks are subjective the rest should be easily identified by a car nut.

Yeah don't dis the guy, its an awesome hood. Unpainted CF parts are in style and on a black car they're perfect!

I'd love to Mugen' out my car, but by the time you did, you might as well buy a 50-60k sports car!

Cheap knockoffs where are you?!!!

It looks all right, but I wouldn't want all that attention to the hood for the cops to see! ya know what a pain in the neck they are.

Jeffrey

looking for something more subtle.
