I just installed the spoon air duct, but it seems as though im having some hood clearence problems. Does anybody know if this is an issue with the hood hitting the duct?
Any input would help greatly thanks.

I have a Spoon-type Hong Kong knock off. 2 minutes of trimming with a Dremel took care of my hood clearance issues. Down at the inlet, I trimmed so the duct went around the grille pc. Also repositioned the hood prop mount and clip because the hood was hitting it vs. the duct.

I have the IDI snorkle which is a Spoon knock off.

I have no clearance issues at all.

 

I had the Spoon for a while. The trick is to get some foam tape and stick it to the hood where it's hitting. A lot of these things get pretty banged up if you're not careful but mine looked good as new when I sold it. The only problem I had was the hood needed a little extra pressure to click shut. No big deal, though.

 

i have a Spoon Duct and my hood sits pretty low(closes when dropped from 5 in) it doesn't rub and the clearcoat on the duct is still intact.

 

yeah, I took it out(duct) jus to make sure the hood wasn't hitting it. So im still hesitent to put it back cause i dont want some thing bad to happen. Im gonna work on it today and figure this out, because it shouldn't be a problem from what i understand.-MARCUS

 

well its official my hood is hitting it and i know exactly where looks like i might have to cut about 4-5in. of the hood.-MARCUS
any suggestions? i'm jus gonna use a dremel tool.

 

Try adjusting the hood latch first. If your hood sits low you can raise it a few mm and it might be ok.
