Default Oil Deal - Guaging interest and feedback

As promised, here are the details of the deal on Oil from oilmansi. He has his own oil company and can do deals on oil for us. I quote below his email and have included his pricing and some info on the oils he has on offer. As we know oil like many things can cause great debate, so please feel free to give us your qualified feedback and rationale (Please don't just tell us what oil you use, but I'm looking for quality feedback on this offer). If you want some REALLY detailed oil info and tests etc, check out Road Rage's thread here or This Thread Which contains info from Ride Magazine and other info from Road Rage.

Seems like an age but attached are some prices and specs as promised.

[QUOTE]From Road Rage
Ian: I am not clear on exactly what your expectations are from me. So I will try to guess. To really be helpful, you need to provide me with more information about you, your driving habits, and how the S2000 is deployed - weekend, sunny day car? Every day? Extended high speeds? Do you want reduced maintenance by going to extended drain intervals? Does price figure into your planning? Etc.

Lack of interest? No Feedback?

Surely you're not avoiding a debate on oil?

Whats the question?

do we want to GB oil? or what oil do we think is best?

Personally, I haven't a clue about whats best. But I might be interested in a GB.. What sort of discount do these prices represent?

Ian

I would be tempted by an oil that fully met/exceeded the Honda spec - in the Honda recommended viscosity 10-30W from memory. The oils listed do not seem to include this grade, or am I missing something?

You're right Gordon, I thought he was going to offer us 10w30, hmmm. I did post in a rush and hadn't read it all.

TBH I am confused by all the different info on Oil.

This is an offer from si, to buy oil from him cheap. No GB involved, I suspect he will be able to supply to each person individually

I have pointed him to this thread, so hopefully he'll pop in and say soon

I think most people are confused - I certainly am.

I want a good quality oil, and would have a strong preference for one that clearly meets the recommendation from Honda - which, unless the UK gets much colder, seems to mean an 10-30W.

The engineer in me is more than happy to listen to arguments for one oil or another, but if I ever had a confrontation with Honda I would prefer to be able to hold up an oil bottle where the words on the bottle obviously match the Honda manual without the need to argue about the subject.

So - any chance of a 10-30W Oilmansi?

Sorry for not getting back sooner but I've been away for a few days and just read this post, thanks Ian.

Basically I'm offering high quality, high spec Silkolene/Fuchs and Castrol engine oils at between 20 and 50% discount on high street prices to anyone who is a member here in the UK.

I run my own oil distribution business which has been established since 1925 and sells the above high quality lubricants.

I will ship anywhere in the UK to your door for the above prices and will soon be offering 5x1 litres and 2x5 litres sizes for those who don't want 10 or 20 litres.

The oils I have offered should meet every need.

For those of you using Mobil 1, I've offered Castrol RS Power as a top notch Fully synthetic 0w-40 at
