ok guys, how does one make a kill switch?
when i get my car back (stolen 3 weeks ago), i would like to add a kill switch. how does one with average car tuning/mechanical skills do this? or is this something only a shop can handle? i mean, are there any handbooks out there with specific directions?
**this thread is not to discuss whether kill switches are effective, but how one can get the job done (whether DYI or with help from a shop).
thanks

is there a book out there that shows the where the ground wire for the fuel pump is? maybe a chiltons or something? some sort of picture or diagram would be helpful to understand what i am cutting... like there the wire goes, etc...
so a kill switch is something any auto parts place would have?

you can use any 12 volt switch. just got to radio shack and ask them for something rated to 20 amps or so, that should be more than overkill. Look at the factory service manual for the wiring diagram.
anyone have ANYTHING else to add?
seems like alotta folks talk about this kill switch thing, then ya ask one question on it and POOF! not a word...
wassup? cant believe there are no resources for an S kill switch...

If you hook up the kill switch to the fuel pump, I would think you'd want to select your switch very carefully, and position it carefully. Pick something with a safety cover so the switch can't be accidently flipped off while the engine is running. You wouldn't want the fuel pump to be disabled while you were driving.
Am I understanding this correctly?

I think what the posters here are getting at is that yes, you can do it, but you need to go to the hardware store, buy a single pole, single throw switch rated at 12V 20A and install it in series between the fuel pump and its power source, and carefully locate it so that you don't accidently bump it off while you are driving.
well i searched in this site and didnt find much info... i will search the rest of the web and possible books, etc...
