A Lamborghini racing a Corvette, weaving in and out of traffic, crossed the center line of Lawson Boulevard in Oceanside yesterday and smashed head-on into an oncoming Volvo, killing the racer and an innocent driver, Nassau police said.

I admit, I street race... but I never do it in a lane of oncoming traffic! BTW, I hope that the families involved are okay.

 

The cover of this morning's Newsday actually read, "The Fast, Furious and Fatal". Definitely pinning it on the movie, which is very unfair.

Did see pics of the Lambo on yesterday evening's news...not pretty.

I drive quickly, but I am constantly amazed by these clowns that think going 120 in a 45 zone is safe.

This story is very sad. I feel terrible for the guy in the volvo and his family.

imagine just cruising home in your relatively safe car and having your entire life jumbled becuase of a few immature pricks with more $ than brains.

my thoughts and prayers are with the volvo family.

 

Just saw it a while ago on the NYC news channel and it was a guy who was arrested for consenting to race on a street and killing two people. The owner of the vette was the only survivor. The vette and the lamborghini were racing in the streets weaving through traffic when one of the cars (i'm not sure which one) hit head on with a volvo. the driver of the volvo and the lamborghini died...the lamborghini looked horrible...totally ripped apart and the vette was pretty bad while the volvo was flipped over (for such a safe car wonder how bad the accident was for the volvo driver to die too). another point to be made about racing on crowded streets. if you see the shape of the lamborghini you would think twice too.

I've been hearing about this crash on the news all day today.

Lord knows I've gotten enough hate-replies for saying it here, but once again here I go-

If you race your car on the street, any street, you're a f*cking idiot and you deserve to die. It's really a shame that an innocent Volvo driver who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time had to die as well this time.

Not my two cents. Just reality.
