Default Draft: Would you go if Bush/Congress called for it?

I'm not sure who has the final say in authorizing a nationwide draft, but it's gotta be Bush or the Congress. If the Iraq situation worsens, and we need to start drafting (unlikely but not impossible), would you go willingly?

I would, my family has all served so to me that would not be a question. You serve your coutnry when asked for. The draft should be mandatory like it use to be in the past. You learn valuable skills in the military which help you out in the civilian world. Plus your giving something back to your country. Alot of countries still do the draft or civil service such as South Korea and I belive Germany? If you don't want to serve than do something like a full time peacecorp work to build houses or helping out poor people for your 2 years. My plans still involve getting my MBA from graduate school by the time I'm 23 (only 8 more months left...) and hopefully sucessfully applying to the FBI. If the military calls on me so be it, as long as its not for more than 2 years.
Forgot to add, we did have this topic in my political science class when I was an undergrad. All volunteer army vs conscription army. Both have benefits and disadvantages.

I don't think I would qualify for a draft.

I would move to Canada. Just kidding. As much as I think our Commander in Chief is a jackass, I would go, but I do not support a draft. I'm active duty military (U.S. Navy) and the thought of serving along side people who shouldn't be there makes me uneasy. Military life is not for everybody. It's more demanding physically and mentally than most jobs in the civilian sector and if you can't handle it you shouldn't be there. You will just get in the way and make things harder. Just my two pennies.

If there was a draft I would volunteer and try to be in one of all volunteer, and more elite units so I wouldn't be serving alongside people who don't want to be in the military. I agree that an all volunteer army is the best.
