Default Academy days on 17th July & 30th October - anyone going?

I'm definately going to sign up for one of these two Academy days (at Heyford run by Motorsport Events). Feedback from this forum has been pretty good and seems a bargain at

Go to www.motorsport-events.co.uk to find out all about what they offer including the academy days!. Plenty of people on the forum have done it and generally seemed to get good reviews!

Academy Day 1 is a good laugh, and gets you to find out the limits of the S.

Thoroughly recommended.

I've been eyeing the Heyford day up for a while... just ... as.. soon .. as. I.. can.. wade. ..... through this treacle and get my car.... ..

Has anyone been on it here who was already a bit handy? Is it a real beginners affair or what?

To put it into context, I've had TT (sorry) and an TVR without a problem and done all the MSA prework for the National B licence. I've also done 8 or so trackdays, only having binned an Impreza P1

Well.. it did understeer a bit much.. you have to go deep into the corner on the brakes, snap the back round and get the power on.. it was bound to end in disaster..

The guy who owns the P1 has uprated the rear anti-roll bar arrangement and it's much more affable now. As is he.

17th July sounds good, October is too far away.
Will check diary.
How hard are these events on the rubber?
Do you need a helmet and if so can they be hired?
