Default New S2000 Purchaser Needs Help/Advice

Hello everyone,
I need your help. I've decided to purcahse a new S2000 and want to call on your collective expertise. As I am new to the S2000 family please forgive me if some of my questions are overly elementary with glaringly obvious answers. I'll learn, I promise! Here are some questions:

1) Do they still make the car in blue? Sales literature doesn't indicate. My second choice would be black/red. Are some colors harder to come by?
2) I am in Washington, DC area. Can you advise on "friendly" dealers? I don't mind a reasonable travel distance.
3) Is the hardtop a factory option? How much?
4) Is it unreasonable to expect to pay less than MSRP?
5) How long should I expect to take delivery? I know the answer is "it depends", but what is a rough guesstimate?
6) What is your experience with Honda finance? Do they have a "flex-plan" type setup which will allow for balloon purchase at end of contract? I expect to put $7500 down.
7) I expect to do basic Stage 1 modification to the car. Does that automatically void the warranty?
8) Any other general purcahse strategies would be helpful.

I thank you all in advance for your help. I look forward to becoming an active member of this forum.

Edward

You'd probably find answers to all your question with a few searches but it'd probably be faster and easier for me to summarize, so here goes:
1) blue is a '02 color (with a black interior). You can get most of the available color combos for '01 quite easily.
2) check out the DC Club under "Clubs" in the navigation bar above and ask there.
3) factory hardtop is a $3000 option - but is available from some of our sponsors (see banners below) for about $2300
4) not unreasonable at all - discounts of up to $1500 have been heard of these days
5) you should be able to get one off the floor and have it in a day or two in most states
6) what you are describing is a lease, and yes, you can do what you described. Or just find a loan with no prepayment penalty.
7) Warranty "rules/guidelines" are standard no matter what stage of modification - basically, if the broken part is caused by the mod, then it is not covered. Of course, there are a lot of grey areas WRT direct or indirect cause/effect.
8) Check the FAQ section...

Hope this helps.

I got my car from Mark Honkofsky at Northwest Honda in Owings Mills, MD (410) 363-8700. Highly recommended (paid MSRP with no hassles). If you talk to him, tell him Mike sent you...
