Due to brake caliper issues (IOW, when I tried to install new brake pads, the increased
width of the new brake pad pushed the caliper outboard just enough to come into contact with the Sinko R's) and since I didn't want to use a spacer, I decided to purchase new wheels. A more expensive decision but in the end, a much nicer visual (my .02).
Patented stainless steel lip, plenty of caliper clearance, satin black spokes.
I recently had a custom polished stainless steel mandrel bent single exhaust built for the car and replaced the blue canister muffler I had before with a carbon fiber/Ti tip model from Revolution.
The car sounds incredible and the piping is just beginning to turn a blue/purple hue. It
is about as straight a layout as you're going to find. Only one major bend (that being
above the suspension) and I'm using a Magnaflow stainless steel resonator. The bend
from the final flange to the canister is VERY gradual. If you look at the exhaust from directly behind the car, it looks like one long straight pipe.
More pics of the latest evolution of my car. I removed the wing about a week ago
to test how the car would run without it. On the highway, it seemed the car was just a tad quicker from throttle tap but the handling DEFINITELY wasn't as
sure. It just did not feel quite as "planted." So, since I'm running a 215/225 tire
combo, I want as much downforce as possible (even at the expense of 2-3hp on
the high end) so I decided to put the wing back on but felt if I painted it suzuka,
it wouldn't look quite so "tacked on." I like how it turned out. The paint match
is VERY close. Close enough to fool me, that's for sure. I think it looks great
and because I only painted the middle section (and left the end plates carbon fiber),
it doesn't look quite as wide as before when it was all black.
The night pics turned out crappy. I had a huge parking lot light above me that was
throwing off my aperture reading on the camera.
One more for the canard haters.
...and finally, perhaps something we can all agree on. Here's my latest watch. The
rotor even turns! Way cool.
