New wheels (again). Wing painted suzuka.
I like the wheels, and I think they look good on your S. I just hate how the logo (R-1 Racing) is an exact replica of the Volk Racing logo. At least R-1 could have come up with there own logo font style (I think the style of wheel is similar to the GT-C)
SpoonS, The car IS lowered. Tanabe NF spring (1.2-inch drop). It's the angle of the pics
that is misleading. When I get into the car, the gap between the wheels is about
one finger and change.
I didn't realize the logo on the R-1's was so close to the Volks until I actually put 'em on.
I wasn't GOING to put them on but didn't want some goober to steal my wheels thinking he
was bouncing on a quad of Volks (despite the center cap). For pete's sake, last night while
waiting for a light, I heard two kids in another car saying, "dude, he's got Volks on his car" despite the logo which clearly states they are NOT.
The polished stainless steel lip is patented by R-1 Racing (not sure what the patent applies
to however). Their wheels (quality-wise) are a significant step up from the usual
copy-cat manufacturers without a significant rise in price.
Not S2000-offset friendly so most, if not all of you will definitely want to pass on any
thoughts of pursuing a set.
This is my fourth set of "not S2K offset friendly" wheels so I'm quite used to the handling
differences. My car would "spook" normal drivers at the limits but I find it only slightly less oversteer prone than my MR2-S (which I intentionally modified for
MORE oversteer). I like tail-wagging cars and was brought up on them as a kid. No FWD for me. FWIW, "at the limits" for this car, as most of you know, is white-knuckle territory for most sportscars (thanks Honda) but I've embraced the changes with an appropriate alignment and tire pressures to maximize my set-up. More importantly, I capped it off with the wing and canard package which goes a LONG way to keeping things planted. When I briefly removed the wing, there was a noticeable difference in downforce at high speed so I figured if it was going back on, at least paint it. Some of you guys who insist on the big rubber packages would be surprised to discover that many high tuner S2000 Japanese racing cars are running tires no wider than 225.
The watch is around $80.

Not very functional (no alarm, hard to see at night) but a cool vibe nonetheless.
Black leather w/ red stitching.
