Well, last week my brother dragged our garden hose across my bumper and put some scratches into it. I was able to remove most of the scratches with a scratch remover and some polish.

There was one stubborn scratch that wouldn't go away, and the scratch remover actually made it worse. Well I'm embarrassed to say I made it worse to the point of no return.

Now I need professional help. I'm so embarrassed about this since I'm such a detailing freak. I've never created a problem like this before from removing scratches on my previous cars

I'm asking you guys to recommend a place for me to go to fix this. The problem area is smaller than a penny but it will bother me until it's fixed. So do you guys know anyplace that can professionally spot fix this. By spot fix I mean just that small area, no total bumber repainting.

I will be so grateful. Thanks. I'm hoping a bodyshop can sand that small area down and repaint.

Bottomline: I'm an idiot, the scratch was minor and I made it into a huge mess that I can't fix

Here are some pics of my the mess I made. This is after trying to apply touchup paint

Dude that looks like a burn mark or bullet mark....Anyway, you could give Elrich auto body a call at 631-722-4056, they're really good, they've painted stuff for my Silverstone. They do all high end import stuff, but they may be far for you. BTW, were you coming out this weekend? If not, no prob, anytime.

Yea, that's my horrible attempt with touch up paint to cover the mess

After doing some searching looks like a few of you guys really like Advanced Collision in Floral Park. They're close enough, so I think I'll have to give them a call.

You guys think this is something they can fix during the day without having to leave my car overnight? also, anyway know if they are open on the weekend?

Ok after looking at it a few time I realize that this thing is pretty small, a little bigger than a pencil eraser.

My question is... will the bodyshop just laugh at me? are they willing to work on something this small?

I think they will fix it for you. HOpefully it can just be touched up and polished out without having to do the whole bumper.

I know it bothers you but I would wait 'til you really need to repaint it.

Thanks, I've actually calmed down a bit since yesterday and I'm thinking the same thing. I'm probably gonna remove that horrible blob I made and try to fill it up nicer.

I'll see how I feel about after that

What hurts most is that I did the damage, I know my brother put the scratch in, but I could've easily lived with that than this. That, and the fact the car is only 2 months old Anyway, lesson learned.

I think you can fix it much better than you did. You need some really really really fine sandpaper to do the job right.

If you're going to fall colors, I'd wait till after. You'll be sure to get plenty of chips then....
