Default Noob Wish To Learn More/everything About Cars!

Hi! I am new to this board. I've made this topic because I wish to learn as much as possible about cars and especially s2k.

I am 20 years old been driving since I was 16 but was never fully into cars until recently. There are many terms that I don't know but I hope some one could help explaining things to me. Even though I know that the only way we can learn is to try it out ourselves but a tip or 2 would really help.

I have a "MY04"="'04 s2k" (I think) for 3 months now.

These are the things I hope someone can explain or give me a tip or 2 on how to do it!

Downshift
Double clutch
Over steering
Under steering
What does it mean when they put weight 49/50?

I've only start driving a stick recently thanks to s2k.

What have got me into tuning car was about 6 weeks ago when one of my friend who owns a RSX type-S with Intake/header/exhaust who could kept up with me on the highway going 120-130mph. While our other friend with an RSX base driving right behind to determine who won the race from exit to exit.

It all end up being me not a good driver who doesn't know how to downshift properly lost the race. They said I shift too slow and my car jerks as I downshift which they told me that would cause power lost. But I know that I was shifting at redline when the red limiter flashes.

I am seeking for knowledge about cars and S2k so please help me.

Here are some very useful tips:
Downshift - step on the clutch, then downshift.
Double clutch - step on the clutch twice.
Over steer - drive a rear wheel drive car.
Under steer - drive a awd/4wd or a front wheel drive car.
And about that weight distribution thing...49 + 50 doesn't quite add up to 100

There's nothing fishy I just want to know something that every1 else knows.

I live in Virginia.

Well we were both going very fast cutting through traffic like we always do... Once you're going you just keep on going you can't back out... By the way it wasn't really a race and you might think I am being sort of loser but only I know what I was doing when the race start... And trust me when you're going 120-130 cutting traffic the only thing you could think of is "can I make it through that space"...

Of course every driver think he's the best. But to me a fast car is a fast car there's no reason to lie... either you're a good driver or you're not there's no reason to hide... and if you think your stock S2k can out run my friend's RSX-S who have aftermarket intake/header/exhaust you're welcome to come down to VA and test him out...

I've been driving fast since I got my first 91 Camry. When the race begin, either you have the gut to go fast... or you just might as well let them pass...

But thanks for the helpful link s2ka... I'm going to practice those techniques tonight.

Do all Virginians a favor, find yourself an empty wet road, go into a 30mph turn at 40mph in third gear, downshift to second and slam on the gas.

on edit: seems like Elizer beat me to it.
