Well, this past weekend Taska and I looked over some of the new projection HDTVs that are on the market. Gaaaa! Oh they definitely look nice. But now I gotta find funds for them.
The Potential Casualty -- [S2000] Body Parts
Sooo, here I am, thinking loooong and hard about some recent mods I'd been considering for The Bruised Banana. All that's left is the Distinto bumper, GP Sport Side & Rear Skirts, and a Feels-style rear wing. And now I'm just not so sure . As a very frank discussion within our Mid-A community, I'm a little concerned about installing these items on my car -- but only from the perspective that "once installed, you kinda 'own' them" (where, in some cases, drilling for rear spoiler, possible riveting of side skirts, etc. could be concerned). And the more I think about it, the more I'm personally considering that I don't want to do anything to my S2000 that I cannot easily undo (should I ever wish to return to stock). You know...my stock hood can easily be reinstalled, billet engine pieces can be removed, braces uninstalled, etc. But, for me, the idea of "swaping" a trunk (and losing VIN match) after deciding I no longer want a trunk-mounted spoiler, etc....well, that just scares me a little. Not to mention (as I've discussed somewhat recently in other threads) that it is entirely likely that if & when Taska and I build a home on land yet to be cleared, etc., that The Bruised Banana probably couldn't stand to remain lowered (as it'd probably not "clear" a rough, rocky driveway) <<scrape>>. And if I'd have to return to an unlowered look...then skirts and such would look a little goofy IMO. Soooooooooo....
The Possible Decision -- Sell [S2000] Body Parts
Given these personal concerns, I'm strongly considering selling these parts prior to going through the trouble of paint-matching, mounting, etc. And if so...this is currently only a "feeler thread" to gauge the interest in these parts within the local Mid-A community. I would *not* be interested in shipping these body pieces. I do *not* want to deal with damage in shipment, etc. IF...and I repeat...***IF*** I decide to sell at all...then I'm considering selling the following items.
Distinto Bumper -- What you see below is an original Distinto Bellezza fiberglass front bumper from Cavalleresco. This bumper was originally 1RandyC's and very likely the first Distinto that hit the States. This is an extremely rare bumper even today. As much as I review threads on our website, I would suspect I've seen all of 3 owners (one having been 1RandyC) ever having posted that they own/ed this bumper. Now...Randy wasn't overly kind to this to this bumper......having "bumped" into a car or two at stoplights. Buuut, I've had any necessary repairs made to the fiberglass. And frankly, this bumper feels as solid as Day 1. It is ready to be prepped for paint (yellow paint you see is "spray-paint-over-primer" b/c I didn't want to drive The Bruised Banana to my local body shop for consultation...with a primer grey bumper ). Fitment is excellent. This bumper would come with its original, fully functional foglights, all mounting hardware, and wiring. I no longer have covers for the foglamps, but a quick pattern trace and a trip to a plastics fabricator would garner new covers if you were interested in pursuing that option. Also, I had the body shop filled/shaved the "divot" that previously housed the Distinto badge.
Price I'm entertaining for the Distinto bumper as described above? $1100 firm[This bumper has been repaired]
Here is a "finished" look of this bumper as posted by RyanIT in '03...
GP Sport Side Skirts -- What you see below are pics from the GB I'd organized sometime back. These skirts, too, are very rare and new to the US market. I really love the look of these skirts and how they flow with the lines coming off of the Distinto's built-in lower splitter chin spoiler (but I realize all these pieces might not go to the same home were I to decide to sell them ). Feel free to check BulletProof's site to compare pricing. You'd be getting a deal...and not waiting months on shipping from Japan (believe me!). For comparison's sake, these pieces are offered on BulletProof's site for $672.94 (+ shipping & tiiiiiiiiiime).
Price I'm entertaining for the GP Side Skirts? $650[These side skirts are brand new, never yet installed ]
Here's a "finished" look of these GP Sport side skirts...
GP Sport Rear Bumper Skirts -- Same GP info as for the side skirts posted just above. Refer to same pics just above for indication of fitment/design to the S2000 rear bumper. For comparison's sake, these pieces are offered on BulletProof's site for $406.09 (+ shipping & tiiiiiiiiiime).
Price I'm entertaining for the GP Rear Bumper Skirts? $380[These rear skirts are brand new, never yet installed ]
Feels-style Raised Trunk Spoiler -- This is not an original Feels wing. This is a "Feelz style" wing as offered by MPTuningUSA. For comparison's sake, this is offered on MPTuningUSA's site for $349.95 (+ shipping).
Price I'm entertaining for the Feels style rear spoiler? $335[This rear spoiler is brand new, never yet installed ]
Here's a "finished" look of the Feels-style rear spoiler...
*ATTENTION!!!*
If you haven't gotten the idea already...Much like a recent FS "feeler" thread from Poindexter...I'm not pressed to sell these items. In fact, its breaking my heart to even consider doing so. These pieces, in-total, would be the finishing touches I've sooo long planned for The Bruised Banana. So the prices you see here are what I'd consider taking for them. I'm not interested in low-baller offers, etc. These prices would be firm. Pickup would be mandatory. And I wouldn't sell one piece...if I don't find committed buyers for all pieces. But if you didn't otherwise read...this is still just a feeler thread...I'm not certain to sell any of these parts at this moment .
Thanks for looking. Appreciate your interest & comments
